Prophets Calling

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.” (2 Peter 1:10)

What does it mean to be called? In this case, it’s a divine summons from God regarding a spiritual vocation,  profession or job assignment for His’ Kingdom. It’s a strong inner urge, prompting or conviction of an inner summoning to do a work for God. The prophetic calling is a divine invitation to become a partner with God in helping fulfill His plans and purpose on Earth. In Greek, the word call is metakaleo, which implies change. Expect change to come into your life and expect to bring change to others. Calling also means to be summoned for a mission, profession, commission, task and assignment.  It’s also a strong impulse or inclination to respond to an inner calling. Once called, the prophet has the ability to operate between two worlds – Heaven and Earth. Prophets are the mouthpieces of God. As a prophet you have a professional position in the house of God. You’re employed by God, given a specific job assignment or duties to perform for His Kingdom. The Office of a prophet is a divine position, ministry calling and/or summon from God. Functions of the prophetic office include: prophesying; bringing edification, (1 Cor. 14:3)  exhortation (1 Cor. 14:3) and comfort to people; (1 Cor. 14:3) and also communicating God’s correction, (1 Tim. 4:14) warning, confirmation (Acts 15:32), direction and judgment (1 Cor. 14:3,4, Hos. 6:5), impartation (Deuteronomy 34:9). The prophet’s main function is to bridge gaps between man and God and to bring people to repentance.

The prophet’s purpose includes perfecting the saints for the work of ministry, edifying, building up and teaching the Body of Christ to become mature in the faith. “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:” (Eph.4:11-13).

When a prophet imparts they deposit anointing and gifts.  Prophetic anointing releases impartation that causes things to be established, made strong and firm within a person life and ministry. Through the impartation of  laying on of  Moses’ hand Joshua received an  impartation of wisdom to complete His assignment.

Sons of God

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature [lit., ‘creation’]: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”  (II Cor. 5:17).

“For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing MANY SONS TO GLORY, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings” (Hebrews 2:10).

The truly converted Christian becomes a son of God–a member of the God Family first known to mankind as Elohim. In the beginning, the God Family consisted of only two Supreme Beings. In the future, it will be composed of many sons and daughters who receive eternal life. Jesus is the firstborn of MANY BRETHREN (Romans 8:29).

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2 ).

Since no man can look at God and live (Exodus 33:20), the children of God will have to be composed of spirit just as He is. Philippians 3:21 tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ will change our corruptible, mortal bodies into a form like that of His own glorious body.

What does Jesus Christ look like now?
Read Revelation 1:14-16 for a description of His present glorified, immortal state. He radiates light and power!

But for now, Christians are only heirs. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17).

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (ICor. 15:55).

The purpose of human life rests in God’s plan of salvation. God is creating His own kind. He is reproducing Himself through the many men and women that He is now calling to be Christians. When such a person is baptized and receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, he is actually begotten as a son of God, though not yet born.

Spiritual Gifts

1 Corinthians 12:3-9, Romans 12:1-8
The gifts of the Spirit are gifts, talents and abilities given by God to facilitate individuals calling to work  in the ministry. These are gifts of the Holy Spirit as listed in  the book of Corinthians and Romans. Many believers think they are prophets because they can prophesy (that is)  speaking into peoples’ lives. They are operating the gift of prophecy and not the office. ” But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement and comfort.” – 1 Corinthians 14:3

The gift of prophecy speaks to people to upbuild, encourage and consulate. This gift of prophecy lacks the ability and power  to enforce, invoke, predict, illuminate, impart, correct, give direction and mobilize the power of their prophecies as with the Office of prophet.  Gifts must be governed by love. “And now abideth faith, hope charity, these three; but the greatest of thes is charity (love).” – 1 Cor. 13:13.

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. Just making a lots of noise but producing no fruit.” – 1 Cor. 13:1.

“Love suffereth long, and is KIND, envieth not, vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seek not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evi, rejoice not in iniquity, but the truth, bear all things, believe, hope and endure things.” – 1 Cor. 13:4-7.

Salvation Scriptures

Believe
“But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” ( Hebrews 11: 6)

Forgiveness
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:9, 10)

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-christ, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son the same hath not the Father, but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” (1 John 2:22)

Confession
“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” ( Romans 10:9, 10, 13)

Repent and be Baptized
Peter cried to the multitudes in Jerusalem, “…and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).

The first step in salvation is a change of mind. Recognizes that your ways are not those of God, and that your sins have separated you from Him.

Repentance means being sorry for having sinned and having brought about the death of Jesus Christ, who bore the penalty of our sins on the cross.

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death” (2 Corinthians 7:10).

The apostle Paul recognized that he had been a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a destroyer. This is a faithful saying,” he wrote to Timothy, “and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”  (1 Timothy 1:13-15).

Despite sins committed, God was willing for Paul and all other human beings to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). He is willing to forgive if we confess our sins and change our lives according to His commandments.

Once a person has fully repented and been baptized, the Holy Spirit alone with the word of God renews his mind (Ephesians 4:23-24). The Christian becomes a NEW CREATION (2 Corinthians 5:17), who must no longer conform to the values of a world cut off from God.

The Christian Learns to live by God’s Word, the Bible
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Word of God corrects us and helps us to discern our innermost feelings as they compare to God’s way of life.

Godly Character
If we permit God’s spirit to dwell in us and guide our lives, God can then create spiritual character in us. But we must choose to do what is right by following His laws.
In God’s view, the development of character comes from the practice of love, patience, mercy, faith, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. Read the entire chapter of Romans 12 for a better understanding of what our behavior as Christians–whose minds have been transformed by the Holy Spirit–should be like.

As a Christian grows in godliness, he is granted additional knowledge, wisdom, and purpose. God has not created a world of robots. He wants thinking people who voluntarily choose to follow His way, and He will supply us with the spiritual tools we need to succeed.

The Doctrine Of Reincarnation

Most of the world believes in some sort of life after death. These views fall into four broad categories, Resurrection, Reincarnation, Universalism and Divinity. The Bible speaks of the resurrection of the dead.

According to Webster’s Dictionary, Resurrection means to rise from the dead, or the coming back to life, whereas Reincarnation means the rebirth of the soul in supposedly another body.

The doctrine of reincarnation states the soul of man reappears after death and comes back in another or  different bodily form. It states the spirit comes back to the earth’s plane many times in order to experience physical life, under a variety of circumstances and conditions and that after physical death, we live in a realm of the spirit, gradually evolving in our consciousness and in our oneness with God.

Reincarnation doctrine is roots in Hinduism and states that reincarnation is the cycle of a person after dying, returning  to about anything, as a cow, crow, or as another person. Some claim to have memories and abilities carried over from one life to another. The doctrine of reincarnation is nothing more than a lie from Satan to deceived people that there is another way to get to God. Satan is always trying to counterfeit the Word of God. (1 Cor. 15:52). Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and He rose again the third day according to the scripture.

And we will also rise at the resurrection with our new bodies and not as a reincarnation being.  (1 Cor. 15:3, Roman 10:9-10, Matthews Chapter 28.)

Christ wasn’t floating around in mid-air nor after his’ death did He come back as an animal or another person from a past life. His same body the bled, died and was buried was resurrected, never to die again. Jesus was seen by Cephas, the twelve and over five hundred brethren after his resurrection. This is the greatest proof of the resurrection and life after death we can have on record.
